My 8 year old Party Q is going haywire and is probably going to die soon. I'd like to get an idea what's new and working with best results. I have a Large Green Egg and do low and slow for family cooks. Don't want to get caught in middle of a cook when it goes. Thanks.

Though I don't think you really need one on an egg, I do use a FB500 on other cookersVisalia, Ca @lkapigian

Many of us have settled on the Smobot and are very happy with it.
I was a diehard FlameBoss 200 user for about five years until I tried Smobot and I was sold by the end of the first cook with it.
That said, I agree that you don't _really_ need one of these gadgets, but it sure takes the stress out of the long cooks.Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning. -
Love my Smobot. I even have a silicone adapter ring so I can fit it on my MiniMax when camping.Large BGE
