BBQ awards

I’ve never entered a cooking or bbq contest, but I get the feeling many of you do.

Who has won awards and what did you win for?

Local competition, I got 4th in Beef (brisket) out of 22, ruined my chicken, and didn't enter any Pork.  I did bring a canopy, but by the end of the day my feet, legs and back were toast; I don't think I've hurt that badly since.
But, it was on my Bucket List.   :)

I have been DQ'd in ribs for shorting my turn in box ( learn to count ) for leaving a competition early ( we would have been first ) have a couple firsts and handful " placed ".... My ace in the holes are chili, chili verde , Pazole and side dish

Oh man, that sounds sooo good.  I love pickled watermelon rind.  Tell me more.  What do you call it?  Do you pickle your own?

    Thanks @loco_engr!!

I’m a little surprised at the wet t-shirt contests but I expected more people competed in bbq.

Probably a euphemism for "fat guys eating bbq sweating in t-shirts" contest.
