    Straight down burns are extremely rare on XLs at least reported here.  I only have a L and S BGE so all above is based on what I have read on the forum and heard via some Zoom sessions.  FWIW-
    I just got the fire bowl last year but did not cook a brisket or Pork Butt till recently. So I will use the standard grate next time. I like the fire bowl for shorter cooks though and have used the divider for 2 zone cooks.
