Hi all
I was gifted the lower half of the xl base and I realize this is a long shot but I am wondering if anyone has an extra firebox and ring they are willing to part with. Even an old cracked ceramics would be fine.
Any parts would be helpful. I would even consider using parts for smaller eggs into the xl! Crazy I know but all ideas are welcomed. Located in Edmonton Alberta canada

Welcome.
Shipping used parts does not seem cost worthy.
I see parts listed on local sites on a regular basis. Even for the XL. But I have no idea what online local sites you have in Canada.
Good luckThank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
It’s a long shot, but you could try posting an ad on your local Kijiji.Good luck.

I have cracked XL bottom, firebox and firering you can have, but as @Photo Egg said $$$hipping kills the offer.
Taking another long shot here... @AlbertaEgger @hondabbq @Doug in Eggmonton may be able to help if they're still lurking or gets alerted by this post. Haven't seen them in a looong time.canuckland -

I have some items for an XL you can have if you want to stop by and get them. Shipping will cost more than the worth of these things."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Agreed and I am very grateful for those who has reached out to me and put in the leg work to provide a shipping quote. This for me is a fun project - timelines to get a fully functional egg is expected to be long. Great community.

Huge update. I was browsing a post on one of the bge group on Facebook, about someone breaking their dome and forgetting to tighten their bands. A commentor asked the OP what size egg was that because he had a spare xl lid from a broken base accident......I quickly looked up this mysterious commentor and to my surprise discovered he was also in Alberta! Unfortunately he was in Grand prairie which is over 4 hours from Edmonton. I messaged him asking if he's willing to part with the xl accessories I could drive to him.
After several weeks pm'ing each other he told me he could coordinate driving to Edmonton for other errands and drop off the dome, firebox, fire ring, bands, thermometer, daisy wheel, ash removal tool, grill grate, broken convegtor, fire grate, brand new gasket, and a tub of cement adhesive. All he wanted in return for this kind gesture was gas money for his trip.

Took the top off of an old table I had recently bought, added paving stones and assembled egg. Ordered the table nest but dealer tells me it could take 6-8 weeks

It appears Dicksonbbq.com in Toronto has XL table nest in stock $53, plus $9.95 shipping. If you add rubs/sauces/accessories to bump pretax total to $99+ they ship free. Just another option, in case your local dealer can’t get it.canuckland

Not sure how well the ceramic feet can support XL. Here's an old thread, there may be more

Installed shelves made for the large onto the XL. Surprisingly it was simple to install. Didn't have to bend the brackets.
-
You can see the brackets doesn't bend around the egg. A small gap is there
