Rodney, Just keep in mind that a M/M is just a Small with the base shortened.

That’s a great way of looking at it.  In fact I suspect if most people understood this, they might look to purchase a Small over the MiniMax.

I added a KAB, a woo-ring with stone, and a rEGGulator to mine.  I cook for one person a lot, so I added grill-grates so I can sear steaks / chops / burgers.

I think the MM is a fun little grill.  Like a race-car.  Fast to get hot!

Because it is shorter than other BGE's, you cook closer to the coals, which means you have to be on your game so you don't cremate your food. The woo-ring helps by raising the grid a little bit.

I might have gone for a small or medium instead of MMX to complement my XL, but BGE only do MMX, L and XL here in the UK. That said, the MMX is great - heats up fast, uses hardly any lump and still works for longer indirect cooks.
  • Performance of the medium is sublime. Best of the lineup that I’ve tried to date.

I believe you are correct sir. That is exactly why I bought a small and not a minimax. My dad and brother both went the other route and now wish they had a small. JohnInCarolina said:
