That is funny. Although, as an American, I've never had issue with the Royals outside of the dodgy Prince Andrew. I have little to no sympathy for Meghan and Harry. She knew exactly what she was getting into.

Not sure about that. I don't know that anyone is really prepared for quite that level of attention from the press. And then there's the element of having an in-law express concern over the potential for your first child's skin color to be a shade too dark. I normally don't pay attention to this whole "Royalty" thing; I'd considered it harmless, and a certain draw for British tourism/income. But this has dominated the news channels (including my 3 favorites, and I'm a news-hound, especially since retiring). And some things have popped up in my head.
1) Believing that a certain "blood-line" (royalty) is "superior" to the Commoners, is, essentially, reverse-racism. This has become a bigger issue with me this past year, learning so much american history against blacks that I did NOT learn in school.
2) The entire Royal Family is not racist? ****. I'm not going to go into that, just watch the interview.
3) The whole British population are not racist? ****. I've spent about 4 weeks there, and saw how Asian Indians were treated there, from children to upper-level management in tech industry (no observed experience with those of African descent).
4) All my above statements are NOT blanket statements; the racism exists, but its not everyone; thankfully, its less than half, but that's still too much.
5) The Worst: the "royal family" aren't really Royalty, they have no control of anything. I've known that they have no control of british government; that's okay with me. But, they don't even have control of their own lives; prince redhead tried to meet with the Queen (his own grandmother) for a year, but was denied repeatedly by "staff". Think about that for a minute. This is identical to this country's right-wing press hiding the flip-flops of one party, depending on the Wealthy's interests.
