Never gone ice fishing. But if I ever do, it will be without beer. =)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

if you want to know why beer is involved ill take you ice fishing. for the true experience you can carry the 35 pound old jiffey 30 relic ice auger a few miles out in two feet of snow and slush, then work on it for 15 or so minutes to get it started, then drill the needed 12 holes thru 3 feet of ice while putting all your weight on that beast, clean the holes of shush. then with your heart pumping thru your temples, your legs not able to support your weight, all your cold weather clothing soaked with sweat, your lungs unable to take in a decent breath of air,  ill bring the beer. it will go good with the steak for breakfast off the grill. its not the cold that does you in, its the deep slush, seems impossible that that miserable slush is there at those temps but there it is, only good thing about it is you can put the beer in the slush and snow and it slows down the freezing

The point of the beer is to help you not notice as much that you're freezing to death.

gordie is good down to about 10 if theres no wind, will even swim after the ducks at those temps but i need to be careful where the open water is. likes the fact he can roam on the remote collar and keeps moving

ATX current egg situation- iced over.  Whats not shown is the 6" of snow, then slush, then frozen, then iced over just to get to it.

If I needed to get it lit to cook I could go deal with it.  Never in all my egging thoughts would I have thought I might one day need to get an egg unfrozen.  Good thing Ive seen how to do it on this board enough that I can.  If I want to grill something I'll pull the WeberQ out of the garage and suffice with that for now, since my Gasser is in similar frozen state.

Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.
