This one hurts. I have easily 40 or so of his albums (and that's a drop in the bucket). Only got to see him live, once, but I was second row and right in front of him (with The Electrik Band); I didn't sleep that night, I was so pumped. He was a great influence on me.

Huge talent, huge loss. Listening to "Return To Forever" never gets old.@botch You are fortunate having seen him in a live performance.LBGE, LBGE-PTR, 22" Weber, Coleman 413GGreat Plains, USA

RIP. I can feel some binge listening coming on for tomorrow.

Can you imagine springing for 3rd, 4th or even 5th row seats and sitting behind @Botch?THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Sad day.

This is actually part of the reason I quit going to live shows (in clubs and arenas, at least). Several times I would be asked to sit down, by the folks behind me, and I'd ask them to have the folks in front of me to sit down; of course that never happened.Legume said:Can you imagine springing for 3rd, 4th or even 5th row seats and sitting behind @Botch?
Its hard to enjoy a musical show when either 1) you know you're pissing off the folks behind you, or 2) you're sitting down and watching the people in front of you shake their asses in your face.
I still go to classical and oddball music shows, in concert halls, as everyone stays seated for the most part. Before COVID, of course.“Remember this, Sometimes the only way up is to Crawl,

C’mon now Botch.... Option “2)” could be downright pleasant given the right conditions are met. 😊Botch said:

Agreed, but I lean more to Tom Petty/Dream Theater shows, than Korean boy bands... “Remember this, Sometimes the only way up is to Crawl,

While in university (and a little beyond), I worked as an usher at our national centre for the arts. You’d greet and seat people, then take in the show. Saw 100s of amazing acts over the years. Jethro Tull, BB King, orchestras from all over the world, etc. Pretty good gig for a young musician making their way through school.

And if you’re a Petrucci fan... have you listened to his stuff as part of Liquid Tension Experiment?

OMG, I didn't realize they had released a 3rd album. Thank you Grate!GrateEggspectations said:And if you’re a Petrucci fan... have you listened to his stuff as part of Liquid Tension Experiment?
EDIT: And I got a bit confused, John Petrucci is a prog guitarist with DT/LTE, and John Pattituci is the jazz/fusion bassist, with Chick. I was pretty sure Tony Levin was the bassist/Stick-man with LTE. Regardless, 3rd album boughted!
