What a ball player.  Truly dominating.  His 1968 season resulted in baseball lowering the pitcher's mound.  Condolences to his family and the Cardinal organization.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

My father was a big fan of Gibson, his favorite pitcher.

My dad set off quite the text chain last night when he sent the following message:

RIP #45 you will be missed.
    Philly - Kansas City - Houston - Cincinnati - Dallas - Houston - Memphis - Austin - Chicago - Austin

RIP I cannot imagine getting to watch a player like him live.  True legend.

Maybe your purpose in life is only to serve as an example for others? - LPL

He single handily mauled my Sox in the 67 World Series. Man was a warrior and what was even more impressive was that in the 67 season he was coming off a broken leg. Not his best season wins/loses wise but his World Series performance is what Legends are made of.

Would've loved to see him pitch.  When they lower the mound because of you, you're pretty good.

Some player, may have been Jim Bouton, claimed lowering the mound gave him an advantage, as it shortened the distance to home plate.  Which is technically correct.

So by lowering the mound for him, did BG break baseball like DeeShamBow is breaking golf? 😉
