Wide Skewers for Kebabs

Was thinking of getting these from Amazon. I have the large, so these are too long to fit inside the egg. Was thinking I can lay them across the gasket and then be able to close the lid over them. Do you think the heat conducted from the flat skewers could harm the gasket?

I don’t think they would hurt your gasket. If they do, get a Rutland gasket and never worry about it again.

I like that they have an end that is easy to pick up with when turning.

Those wire thingies ain't so great. 

@Kroger I like the flat skewers I have, similar to the ones in the link you posted. No worries about damaging the gasket.

I picked up some at the local hardware store, about $5 for a set of four.  Approx 1/2” wide but bent 90 degrees so the skewer is a v shape along the length of it.   They’re maybe 12-18” long, simple, cheap and the v shape keeps food from rotating.
