Bourbon and Beyond. 2019. 3 day event. Foo Fighters closed the show on Saturday. About 30 bands, Stevie Nix, closed it on Sunday. Lots of great shows in between on two stages, and another stage venue closer to the entrance.
    Front row for most.

Cancelled for 2020. We had our VIPs already purchased for this year.

Last single stage concert; JJGray, Nashville, at the Ryman.

Always seems to be the cavernous indoor venues with crappy sound.

Rush a couple of years ago in Austin at the Erwin Center had some of the worst sound, it just bounced around in there forever.

Any metal show at the Cow Palace in the early 80’s.  An AC/DC & I think Fastway show was super loud.

Twisted Sister, Queensryche, Dio and Y&T at the San Jose Civic were all remarkably loud in a smallish space.

    My god I feel old.
    Love you bro!

One of the early Lollapalooza shows in 1992 in Raleigh outdoor theater. lucky/unlucky got seats on right wing first row. Right in front of a mountain of speakers that had to project sound alway to the back of the grounds.

Couldn’t hear for a week, but what a lineup

Ted Nugent ... back in the Cat Scratch Fever days ... the good old days.  Also the Beach Boys, standing at the front near the speakers.

Been to most Heavy Metal 80s concerts (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden etc) but the wildest most out of control was a Kenny Rogers and Dolly show (wife likes country) which I had to go for an AC/DC concert payback -  They had to stop twice because the women were storming the stage for Kenny.   Been a fan ever since.

The location was a bar in Columbia SC. It was on Rosewood Drive, but don’t recall the name of the establishment. .....Band called Head East. They were a hard driving rock band back in my much younger days. It might have escalation  as I was right in front of a speaker stack.....

A strong second would be Black Oak Arkansas. Loved those guys. I did not attend a Grateful Dead show during the wall of sound tours. I am certain they would have made the list if we were given a could-a been vote.

    Dundee's!

Ted Nugent at the Fox in Atlanta circa 1983? Not sure you are allowed to say Ted Nugent anymore, but what the hell.  I may post a pic of a pork butt or some such, so hopefully I’m forgiven for my transgressions of 37 years ago. 😀😀😀

Also - to cleanse the palette - About that same time, I saw the Romones at the Agora ballroom across the street from the Fox - That show was crazy loud.  I still have a guitar pic that Johnny threw out to the audience that night. RIP Ramones!

All these Ted Nugent posts makes me sad I never saw one. Must have been a great show.

White Zombie in the mid 90s for me. Think it was about the time of the Astro Kreep album and to this day still the best concert I've been to imo.

I walked out of so many concerts back in the day numb from the neck up it’s hard to say, but the one that stands out that actually hurt in real time was Aerosmith, Philadelphia Spectrum 1980 something, can’t recall the exact year, but damn I’m pretty sure that show was a healthy contributing cause of the tinnitus I now experience nearly 40 years later

I've seen Bob so many times I can't count and most of them are very loud.  The Last Dog and Pony show tour he played 3 nights at First Ave.  The first night was so painful that I brought earplugs the next two.

I went to a local radio stations rock festival in 9th grade and my head hurt for a week and my ears have rang with tinnitus ever since. Definitely not worth it.
