Screw the carb and calorie counting, this virus stuff has me scared.

Maybe I am a wimp, maybe unreasonably scared, maybe being unreasonably cautious, maybe not.
I could not sleep again last night and got up around 4:45 a.m. Around 6 I decided to go ahead and make breakfast, quietly.
Had it all ready when the wife and pups got up. As you can see, I ignored carbs and calories again this morning, something I am doing way too often in these uncertain times. Gotta get back on track some day, and soon. But, it is hard to care a whole lot when you just might get a virus and die, at least if that happened, I will not have died hungry. I don't mean for that to sound flippant nor am I trying to be funny. Just thinking it is hard to care about little stuff right now. Yes, I'm sure I'll pay for not eating right and my sugar is elevated, but just finding it hard to care about that right now.

Great looking cook. But your chances of dying is so very, very slim. That breakfast will kill you first.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now).

Looks excellent. you can get back on track anytime, but it's a shorter trip if you get back on today.
Times are stressful, and it is pretty easy to find an excuse to eat without intention, but in reality eating poorly isn't going to diminish your stress at all. It might temporarily release some endorphins, but it doesn't last.
Eat all the carbs you want. Roasted taters are a great source and pretty low in cals for the volume you can consume. Watch your calories. Don't eat nutritionally dense foods too often as they aren't as satisfying.
No judgement but you are probably sneaking up on 700 calories with one sammich and one hash brown patty, that's a big chunk of your day's fuel supply.
As my wife likes to remind me - you can't eat like an a-hole all the time.
Be well. -

They’re calling it the quarantine 15, since carbs don’t count during a pandemic, you’re good.

The meal looks wonderful, but as someone currently treating covid19 + patients, I have to say that lowering your a1c and keeping your blood sugar in check is the single best thing you could possibly do to survive this virus. I’ve been caring for critically ill patients for almost 20 years and been in healthcare since 1988. This virus scares me in a way nothing else ever has. But there are things we can do to reduce the chance of dying from it and keeping our blood sugar in control, weight down and a1c in check are among those with the strongest evidence. This stuff isn’t easy, I wish you luck. But please do what you can.

Thank you for the heartfelt advice and mostly thank you for what you do in caring for others.
