Quick story. I used to manage a team in a small organization of about 185 people. Every Friday, I used to compile a collection of several dozen recent memes, jokes, etc., curated from a variety of sources, always being careful that nothing that could be perceived as offensive was included. I sent this “Friday Fun” email to members of my own team, and to those who I had close relationships with outside of my immediate work unit. The reaction to these was priceless. Employees would talk about them, people who generally didn’t get along would laugh together, employees would onward forward it to family members, etc.As silly as the emails were, I really felt that they helped lighten the mood while building morale amongst staff. When I eventually no longer had the 10 mins needed to put these together and ultimately abandoned the practice of sending these emails, almost all former recipients gave me grief over having suspended the messages.Sometimes, people just need a laugh.(I begin a new job in June - assuming it doesn’t fall through - and will have to resume the practice.)

I thought this was kind of funny. My friend Pat sent us guys in a group text a clip of random actors staring into the camera with music building up in the background as some lady unbuttons her shirt button between each clip. Eventually to the point where the music gets loud and this ladies upper half is naked and it says, "Happy ta ta Friday!" Something completely stupid. I had to explain this text before you read the text below. (My friend Dave "Mugger" girlfriend is Jess)

@Great_EGGspectations that was a great practice you had with the Friday email...sometimes we just need to laugh. It’s a great way to de stress even if it’s just for a moment.Good luck with the new job, I’m sure it’s going to work out just fine.XL BGE, KJ classic, Joe Jr, UDS x2

@GrateEggspectations - great team and morale building leadership tool right there. Those skills are ingrained. I am sure your new job will bring you many opportunities to enhance the daily lives of your co-workers and be acknowledged for the intangible benefits such actions bring.
Best of luck with the transition.

We ordered Chinese food last night and when the driver pulled up I went outside to meet him.
He started shouting "isolate, isolate"
I replied "Calm down calm down", I only ordered it 20 minutes ago"

@GrateEggspectations, I saw that whole thread elsewhere. The one that really cracked me up, for some reason, was her wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt!___________
