2 cracked bases

Both my large and XL have cracked under the air vent in the last week. Large is 8 years old, XL is 2 years old. This cant be normal.

Noticed when I saw smoke coming out from underneath. Using the BGE table stands for both for about a year. Anyone else had this issue with the stands?

Have for the XL. Large dealer went under and I can't find it.

Well ACE in Ocean Springs is a dealer now when you can get to them for an replacement. I was going to buy a large there this weekend but it looks like it will be another 3 weeks or so.

That sounds like a much warmer place than Ontario Canada, where I'm at. 

Stay safe, just gonna miss cooking on these things while we are all shut in.

I’ve had 2 XL bases crack. Both were in a table on a table nest, never moved. I think it just happens. Luckily I have been able to text a few pics to my dealer both times and had a new replacement base within a few weeks.

i would still move them off the deck to use them, start a claim over the phone,take pics and send them in for replacement. it may take several months to get them replaced

You should still be able to get it handled. I was in the same boat with my original large. On top of that, I bought it in WI and had moved back to TX. My local TX dealer handled it no prob. I emailed him the details and bge (well, our local distributor) took care of it.

Over a month now since dealer submitted warranty claim to BGE Canada. No response yet from them...  Wonder if they are closed due to covid. Anyone have a successful warranty claim recently?

I did, a year or so ago. It was a 15 year old egg and I of course didnt have the reiept. I got the mothership involved and it went pretty smoothly from there.

I have several eggs, and two of them have had cracked bases (Large and Mini).  Both were replaced under warranty.  Receipts were long gone on both eggs, and I sent in the registration cards many years ago (I think?).  Dealer took my information and pictures and new ones showed up on the next dealer order.

Once I replaced my Large base, I ended up patching the cracked one with JB Weld extreme heat and it worked well.  Looks like Frankenstein with the lines running on it, but it worked well in a few test cooks.

took a couple months back in the fall. call the dealer to see if they are open, alot around me are closed right now

Yesterday I took pics of the receipt and serial number for the new Large. Then I registered the Large online. The pics are backed up in the cloud. Just in case since the medium is 11 years old and the only crack is to the fire ring.

Yes, I sent pics of a crack in my base right before the covid mess. Heard back a few weeks ago that a new base is in. Now I just need to figure out when I can go get it.

I am in Southern California though.

I sent a warranty claim to BGE Customer Support for my XL Fire Ring and Conveggtor at the end of last week. After a few followup emails and additional pictures yesterday, I received authorization from Customer Support this morning to take to my dealer to order the warranty part replacement.  I have no idea how long it will take to get new parts from the distributor.

Update. Finally received the XL base replacement today. What a pain this has been.

Update to the update. The replacement had a hairline crack within 6 months. Just received another XL base.
