I've never had a problem with wings either.  I had a couple prime rib roasts flare up, then started using the divided coals/ drip pan and didn't have the issue again.  So, it just became my 'set-up' for spinning.

Not spinning today, but the XL is fired up and I'm heading out to grill some lemongrass chicken thighs directly over the coals.  Let us know how your cook turns out.

Thanks guys - Didnt consider flair-ups . . I was more worried about tainting food bad smoke from dripping chicken fat.  I guess it’s no different than smoking wings raised direct, lol.

I might just keep since I already smashed it in place,  it I’ll post after.  Kinda excited, going for crispy bc and hoping to convince my wife (crispy wing snob)

  • I haven't had any flare ups either.  Thinking about wings for the weekend and testing out the dishwasher cleaning hack and see how that works.

Ok Ok Ok Ok Ok - best Wings ever !!  I was prepared to take an L and prepared to admit that Rotisserie BGE was more FUN that better results . . but im giddy.  These were so great, crispy, and easy too.  Wings air dried in fridge overnight, then corn starch & a no sugar dry rub.

So I took videos (catch that spin ya know) and not much pics so froze a few stills from the videos, not great.  Thanks for guiding me on my first spin and Much more Rotisserie in my future !!

    Great post.
Bought same basket. Arrived couple days ago. Going to spin some wings on my Weber kettle later today.
    Thank you,

@KiterTodd @dfw @Lowcountrygamecock about to do some wings in basket - does this setup seem smart or goofy ??
just my opinion, but a waste of a foil pan.  I've done a dozen wing cooks with the joetisserie basket without ever using a drip pan, after being advised by others here not to fool with it.  I haven't had a flare up problem.
    Same here.

What’s the dry rub to corn starch ratio?

    You won't regret it!
  • The joetisserie is on sale on Amazon and I just bought one. My husband said I’m not allowed to come to the forum anymore because I keep finding new “Toys” for my BGE.

This place has definitely parted me with quite a few paychecks over the years.

If your husband doesn't like it, don't let him have any of your food.  Bet that changes his mind real quick.
