Egghead Friends,

I'll be in Georgetown, TX for some family fellowship Dec 26-30.  Is anyone up for a meet up sometime on Sat or Sun at Valentina's?  I was thinking morning time, but I'll have some flexibility.  I have dreams about the real deal holyfield taco.  If that doesn't work out, throw out some other places.

We're getting a catering order on Friday from La Barbeque on Friday, but if that's recommended or easier for people on here, I'd be kewl w meeting there.

I'd love to meet some fellow eggheads and meet up, if we can make it happen.

Have a great Christmas everyone.

Valentina's for sure and if you need to escape for awhile then you've gotta do Franklin's.  Better to be lucky than good any day...
    Hope it works out.

I’m out of town, but I can recommend the firehouse hostel, Gibson street bar, and “Garage” as some unique bars if you want something different than sixth or Rainey.

We have 3 more for sure and I think it will be more like 5. My son is coming and a KJ guy who is not on the forum. 20stone is coming if he can but will be game time decision. I have a couple other calls out to some local forum guys and a couple of friends.

@thetrim your shipping company (5 letter) is in the "sucking eggs" category.  Perhaps they will come thru today (as quoted until around 2 hours ago) but I doubt it.
Now the 3 letter company used by Rockwood was here as planned today before noon.
    I rest my case... B)

@lousubcap apparently lives In Some sort of five letter vortex that doesn’t allow for proper deliveries.    My use of the five letter company was a final passive aggressive dig at the superior service academy football team.

It happened and unlike fedex, Valentinas always delivers. Delish food  and good company too

really enjoyed it. And that brisket was ridiculous! Was telling JIC earlier that I have had the opportunity to eat at Franklin, Mickelthwait, Loro, and Valentinas in the past 10 days. This was probably the best of all (Loro is close consideration). Why anyone would wait 5 hours when you can walk up and get this in 5 minutes is beyond me. If you don’t like this, you don’t like brisket.

Yeah it happened for sure.  I’ve had a lot of BBQ in my day, and Valentinas came w extremely high expectations.   They were easily exceeded.   Wow.   They don’t call it the real deal for nothing.  It’s an hour away and I might be back tomorrow.
There are a bunch of places making good breakfast tacos and brisket, but the RDH coddled in that homemade tortilla just beats them all.

Yesterday was a bit of a strange day.  I really couldn’t stop thinking about the RDH taco.   I had to go back and make sure it was as good as I remembered.  I had a 1/2 lb of both brisket and pulled pork and had some nice leftovers
