As a 17 year survivor of prostate cancer I am living proof it can be beaten! When mine was detected I was just 57. My Gleason score was an 8+ and for the uninformed a 9 is dead man walking...10 is flower town.

Surgery is not the only solution...trust me!

Got an update after they met with the oncologist and it sounds like he’s opted for removal. While he could first go for less invasive treatments, these would introduce further complications were removal to be desired in the future. He has three brothers and a father who have all battled prostate cancer, so I think he’s opted to take the cautious route on this basis.

The family and he have got this as noted prior.  Given the family history I can understand his decision.  Now the key is to always remember the late great Leroy "Satchel" Paige", "Don't look back, somethin' might be gainin' on ya." Again, take no prisoners.
