I hugged my Fed Ex driver

It’s not often a beautiful woman makes a delivery like this one.
The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.
Holding the company together with three spreadsheets and two cans connected by a long piece of string.

With that company delivering that in the correct position you should go buy a lottery ticket, never mind the driver...
Backstory:  Once SRF changed delivery companies to Fed Ex from UPS the contrast was immediately obvious.  Suffice to say I have had some issiues:
    Here's a post from a while ago:
"I don't spend much time in a seasoned thread thus this new rant.  Back in early Feb 2018 the great five letter shipping company (used by SRF) managed to flunk all levels of reading/delivery comprehension.  Welcome to today the same POS outfit delivered the same product from the same company.  At least they are consistent and totally clueless.
Here are the latest pics- (sorry for the rotation):

And in case you can't read:

You can't make this up.  Once again I will expend time and effort to talk with the local five letter office but they obviously don't care.  Hopefully SRF will go back to the three letter company with the next contract.
Rant over til they hose it again.  "

I cringe every time I get a SRF delivery from them but of late I have not had any issues (other than the one where I request they leave the delivery by the garage door out of street sight) and they can't get that right.
BTW my FedEx driver is a new person almost every time-UPS, same guy for a few years now.  FWIW-
And yes, I have asked SRF to consider the issues with FedEx when the contract comes up for renewal.  Now this rant is over.

I had ordered a camera body, and it was to be delivered by that 5-letter company, signature required.  I called the number on the door tag they left, at 4:20; put on hold, and was disconnected at precisely 5:00.  Same thing happened the next night, 30 minutes on hold.  Was finally able to get my package, I had to drive to their distribution center, and my complaints were met with "bored/f*ck U" looks.
Whenever I order something now, I ask for no 5-letter delivery, and if they can't give me that I cease the order.

I just got a case of wine in from Napa...it wasbeat ro hell and back. The styrofoam bottle holders were busted, and there was a freaking hole in the box like a fork lift or something puctured it.

Contents were fine, but....it was UPS. Neither have impressed me much for other reasons. But if I were to choose...likely UPS.

  • UPS uses package runners in December, a few years ago one of them opened my door and threw the package inside the house.

  • I have had better luck with USPS lately.  No damaged items for a couple of years with Priority Mail 2-3 day.  They even delivered the BIL’s creamated remains to the house in 1 day! 😀
  • @lousubcap the other day I was dropping off a package as FedEx was pulling up. As I headed to my next delivery area, I found packages in the middle of the road. Yep. FedEx packages. He had left his back door open. I scooped them up and planned to deliver them later but he tracked me down after a few minutes.
I left my route recently for 6 weeks to give another one a serious look. Decided to go back and heard horror stories. Packages delivered to the wrong side of the street, wrong mail, etc.  So definitely not touting my own company. Just agreeing with you that consistency with the same driver usually leads to better results.

@RajunCajun congrats on that score! Good groceries await you...

Do hug your FedEx, UPS or USPS delivery person, Lord knows they are likely deserving.  Lord also knows they are increasing likely to not be employed by FebEx, UPS, or USPS, without adequate insurance or time off benefits.
I believe we've tried this economic model previously.

    Please expand upon your statement.

  • Don’t order expensive electronics via UPS. If they break it it’s not their problem. Received an Outlaw amp that was obviously trashed during shipment, parts were ripped out inside the box. UPS said sorry, too bad. Outlaw made it right, excellent company. FedEx covers electronics, or at least they did ten years ago.
