how much is the interference fit? These always get everyone nervous around here. When things get stuck too early they cam become an $$$ nightmare real quick, or when whatever your putting on slides way past where it should have then sticks, don't ask me how I know
the interference on the shaft couplings looks to be .003 on the 6.5 diameter components, the bearing i have not  measured as of yet.  the seal plate is also the race for this tapered bearing, its about 3 foot in diameter with maybe 3 dozen shimmed bolt locations, now trying to find out how to properly shim this thing.  i dont know how many millions this pump cost but everything ive taken apart has a problem.  insurance people all around me taking pics,  pump has under a hundred hours on it.  what it looks like is whoever set it up hung the shaft components from the motor instead of floating it on the pump, the motor is out for a complete rebuild.  hoping this bearing has a looser fit, it needs to be removed with heat from a torch and a puller to save the main bearing below it, that bearing looks to be 30 inch OD

You on a fixed price or time and materials?
  • no it has to be a flux inductor to go forward in time least you chill the bearings

its time and material and bill in stages

  • @lkapigian is correct....resistive load doesn’t care about frequency or hertz.  But the 208 voltage is usually a 4 wire wye connection, vs 480 3 wire delta and no ground.  I worked with both, but preferred torches when removing/installing press fit bearings on our large gas turbines.

Sounded a bit risky to be doing on a fixed price.

3 days to settle this,  480 volts 40 amps 60 hertz single phase. i dont think ive ever seen 480 single before. going to upsize the wiring and plug amperage, its maybe 150/200 feet to the panel away. does everything take 3 days to do or is it just me =)
