Multiple Pork Butts at once
I will be cooking two Pork Butts this weekend, preferably at the same time. Any adjustment I need to make as far as pit temps go? Will probably have 2 - 8-9 pound Butts. Thanks for any help!

Nope

Welcome to the forum!
Correct - no adjustments are necessary. The only thing you might want to do is do a “dry fit” the two butts with the drip pan. It is much easier to do that while the grill is cool then when at temp.
Any more questions? Fire away. Lots of helpful people on here.--------------------------------------------------

I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

I did two at the same time last weekend on a large they came out great.

when you first put them in it may take a little longer for the pit temp to climb back up, do not change your vent settings and chase the temps, its a false temp reading from 16 pounds of cold meat

No adjustments required, really, I have done 5 butts, on a large, without any kind of stacked or adjustable grate, although I admit to opening the lid and spreading them apart a couple hours into the cook as they started to shrink.

Thank you all for the confirmation! The temp on my EggGenius was showing a false reading compared to the gauge on the dome. But it all worked out!

No adjustments. Put them on at the same time. Check each temp independently and process accordingly. The meat drives the cook.------------------------------
