battery to thermo died: how can I tell when pork shoulder is done?

have a 13# butt going for pulled pork. checked temp earlier and went to check again and the battery is dead
is there another way to check when it is done or need I need to go out and buy another battery right now?

When the bone pulls out by hand.

When in probes like butter, no resistance, it's done. You can also test with the bone, it should pull out cleanly.Plymouth, MN

What they said. I have no idea what my finish temp is for a butt. Whenever there's no resistance when I probe, it's done. I use my Thermapen as a probe, but I don't look at the temp. It's like a toothpick.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
