I would suspect that there are a few places in TX where you could find Select quality at that price. FWIW-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Costco is the cheapest around here at 3.99lb for a full packer. Publix has the audacity to put a flat on “sale” for $6.99 a lb.

Our local Giant market recently had them on sale for $2.00/lb for Choice packers. I went to 3 different locations and managed to get 4 of them. The ones I bought were not too fatty and quite flexible. I cooked one and froze the rest. I keep checking their ads every week but no repeat sales so far.

Restaurant depot is selling for $3.04 if you buy 50 pounds or more (3 brisket packers). I believe I saw high $2 over the winter.
Nice thing buying there is there are 20+ briskets and not frozen so you can bend them.
