I would suspect that there are a few places in TX where you could find Select quality at that price.  FWIW-
Louisville;  "indeterminate Jim" here; L & S BGEs, PBC, Lang 36; Burnin' wood in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer.

Costco is the cheapest around here at 3.99lb for a full packer. Publix has the audacity to put a flat on “sale” for $6.99 a lb.

Our local Giant market recently had them on sale for $2.00/lb for Choice packers.  I went to 3 different locations and managed to get 4 of them.  The ones I bought were not too fatty and quite flexible.  I cooked one and froze the rest.  I keep checking their ads every week but no repeat sales so far.

Restaurant depot is selling for $3.04 if you buy 50 pounds or more (3 brisket packers). I believe I saw high $2 over the winter.
Nice thing buying there is there are 20+ briskets and not frozen so you can bend them.
