No idea what happened, but RIP big guy.  I know we have a lot of UK fans on here.

Not a UK fan, but an SEC fan. The kid could sling it. I read an article that said it was a combination of cardiac and renal failure. He struggled hard with his weight and overall health.

Here's a brief article from the L'ville daily paper (Courier-Journal) web site:

"Former Kentucky and New York Giants quarterback Jared Lorenzen died Wednesday at the age of 38.

The University of Kentucky confirmed Lorenzen's death in a tweet Wednesday afternoon.

Anointed the “Hefty Lefty,” “Pillsbury Throwboy” and “Round Mound of Touchdown” by fans during his playing career due to his prodigious size and arm strength, Lorenzen had been hospitalized since Sunday with an infection, kidney and heart issues, according to statements from his family."

Tough loss especially at 38; RIP and condolences to his family.  I believe he had a brief stint with the NY Football Giants as well.

Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Cool story from my old high school football coach. When Jared was in high school his team came to town for a high school playoff game. In warmups he would get down on 1 knee on the 50 yard line and throw it to the end zone. Pretty solid arm strength to throw a football 50 yards on 1 knee for a 16-17 old boy.
