I've read (haven't tried it) that placing a chunk of Limburger cheese nearby will attract them away from you, since mosquitos seem to be more attracted to it than to people.

I spray permethrin on my clothes, sometimes some Off. Dont want to kill bees by spraying the whole yard

I'll quit spraying the yard when the skeeters become as friendly and helpful as the others

I keep a big citronella can near the grill. Light both at the same time. I even move the candle to the ground. I can be standing in the smoke from the candle and I still get attacked.

Thermacell works good for me when I am hunting.

This guy catches a LOT of mosquitoes.

Another option is using a fan in the area.

The force of the air is greater than the mightiest and most determined of the mosquitos.

It at least can save you on your patio or deck.

Living in the Ohio River Valley....you try everything.

That’s a really neat setup in the YouTube video. I figure I could run it overnight, but would want to shut it during the day, when I want more quiet in my yard (which would also be appreciated by the neighbours, I’m sure!). The sound is the only downside I see to this option.

Wow.  I have one of those fans so will have to give this a shot.

If you do, please report back. I’d be curious.

Forget about the mosquitos, I'm thinking I might pave my entire yard...

All kidding aside theres a place in CA called Garlic Research Labs

Try their non toxic to people and pets product.  Their stuff works really well

Cedar spray is effective as well

AcE sells an orange peel extract that is effective at insect killing and control.
