Santa Maria Tri Tip

Was able to pick up a prime tri tip at Costco and cooked it Santa Maria style, reverse sear. Came out really well.

@Jeremiah I cooked it Santa Maria style, seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, garlic powder. The baste it as it cooks mix 50/50 olive oil and red wine vinegar loaded with garlic.

Nice, we do ours with SPOG to an IT of 120 then reverse sear. This way we have rare in the middle to reheat the next day.

Heh, I bought a large jar of Suzie Q's last TDY to Vandenberg AFB; threw out the remainder recently as it smelled like dust, was past its prime.

@dmourati that is a cast iron grate I use for searing. I got it years ago on Amazon.com.
