OT- Memorial Day Story..How I met my Wife

I have always respected and honored those who gave their lives so we can live ours and that's what this day is really about.

But it also has a different and special meaning to me,

On Memorial Day 1999, I was living in Memphis. This really cute girl lived across the street from my apartment. 
I had noticed that when ever I went out on my balcony, she went out on hers.

I knew I had to meet her. I had a feeling....

So on Memorial day I was grilling some ribs on a POS gasser.

She was out on her balcony and at one point we made eye contact.

I held up my Corona and said: " Hey, wanna come over and have a Corona with me?"

She said yes...I was scared shitless....

We had Beers and some bad grilled ribs.

We talked until midnight.

i kissed her under a full moon on my balcony.

We've never been apart since that day.

Today is the 20 year anniversary of that magical day. A day that changed my life.

My life could have never been better after that day.

This is a very memorable day for me.

Very sweet story except for the gasser ribs!  Although you can get away with a gasser on an apartment balcony while charcoal is generally prohibited.  So the gasser really is good for something!  
Congrats on 20 great years!

Awesome story. Very happy for both of you. Have been with my wife almost as long (we met young, in first year of university) and I can share your joy at having found a true partner in life. 

Little did you know it, those awful ribs likely paved the way for a lifetime of approvals for the purchase of all manner of cookers and gadgetry to try to improve on your then-dreadful cooking (BGEs included).
