Ot Italy trip
So it turns out I have a few more trips to Italy in the coming weeks. One trip is the week before I need to be in Germany for the week. That means I have a weekend starting in the Milan area of Italy and ending around Munich in Germany on Sunday night/ Monday morning. Any suggestions?

Lake Cuomo?
Neuschwanstein Castle? (Think disneyland)
Any time for a side trip to the Swiss Alps? Something like Lauterbrunnen which is a real 'gateway' town. You can see the Eiger (think Clint Eastwood) and visit the Schilthorn (think James Bond) or go to Gimmelwald (Think WOW!) or even go to the Trummelback Falls (INSIDE a mountain!) Dress Warm) but stay in Murren.
NO automobiles, plenty of Photo Opportunities (bring extra batteries and Memory!) and reasonable food / accomodations. up the hill from Lauterbrunnen.

Few more trips? Curious what line of what you're in. That sounds awesome!

I'll be inspecting automated equipment being built in Europe. This will probably be the last of this spurt of travel.
@northGAcock last time I was there my Clemson hat got recognized by an Italian guy that played American football as a hobby. It made my day.

A side trip through Salzburg would be time well spent. Mozart's home, the Sound of Music tour, and a dinner and concert in the Hohensalzburg Fortress make for a great 2 days. Being in a city where the new part of the city was built in 700 AD is eye-opening.

I stayed in Bellagio on Lake Como for a few days. It’s great but it may be off season when you go and a lot of places are closed. The Duomo in Milan is a must see. Go on the roof to see the statues. In Germany, Neuschwanstein is in a very scenic location, the exterior far exceeds the interior. There are a lot better castles in Germany but this is one famous and on your route so it’s a go visit. Best photos are from the suspension bridge. There’s an awesome Baroque church called Weiskirche close by. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is a Baroque masterpiece. Stop along the way and sample the beer and sausages. A lot of German beers are local and aren’t distributed out of an area. Sometimes maybe only a 20km radius. The sausages are out of this world. The bread they use makes it. Enjoy and have a great trip.

Near Neuschwanstein there is a summer luge place that is fun. It is possible to exceed the maximum speed of the track and flip your luge on wheels. And fun doing so. The partial thickness burn/abrasion sustained will stay with you for life as a trophy. Just sayin'.

I rode one in the Black Forest. Those things are a blast to ride. That’s an awesome recommendation.

Milan is a decent city- known for meats but we found some excellent seafood as well

That is so cool! Have you read John Grisham's "Playing for Pizza"? It's about American football clubs in Italy. Really fun read.

So one trip almost down. Here's the food. At the airport so we'll see how it goes.
Delta's food was blah

The day I arrived just ended up getting a pizza. It was the best pizza of the trip.
-
The next day we went by a McDonald's to see the differences. Managed to sneak this picture.
For lunch it was steak Florentine
Desert was marscapone made that morning. Man oh man it was good.
-
We found a small coffee bar that had great pastries.
For lunch there was a group of six. That's why the desert is so large. The pizza was prosciutto, mushrooms, and asparagus.
More marscapone, German chocolate cake, and an orange cake.
For supper we decided on a burger place by the hotel. This was supposed to be waygu. It was surprisingly good.
And desert

And desert

That evening we went out to dinner with a local guy.

Back to the coffee bar
And then a "working lunch"

One last dinner
-
Another "working lunch". It was from the type of place that would only deliver within a few minutes of their restaurant.
-
And a fancy dinner
It was alright. Focused too much on the looks and not enough on the taste. The desert was very good, but I didn't get a picture. -
A picture of "orange juice" at Milan Airport. Not sure if it was blood oranges or what.
-
And then the flight back.

@Elijah, I just gained 17 lbs just reading your post. Very Nice!
Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Tell me about it. I didn't weigh before the trip so I have no idea. Italians say that because everything is so fresh and not industrialized that you can eat more without gaining weight. My belt agrees.
