    Those look awesome, but, while I am normally a big fan of the (wildly successful) NYT, I find the use of milk in lieu of buttermilk objectionable. . Here a very similar recipe, but w buttermilk. The black pepper is also a good add.

    Shredding the butter was new to me as well! I now use a food processor to do it...
