Great news! They will want to get her up and moving soon. She will not want to do that. She will say she cannot do that. She will be wrong. It won't be easy, but she can do it. Slowly at first, of course, but she can do it! And it gets better quickly. That was my experience anyway.

    All the best!

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Just met with her surgeon - everything went well. Two years of chronic high dose steroids for the asthma made their job a little tougher, and the next 24 hours won’t be easy because of that and how heavily they had to sedate her for the surgery.

But the good news is that this first important obstacle has been cleared and she is on the road to recovery.

    Thanks to all,

    Mike and Valerie
Heading in the right direction, good luck.

@CTMike - Glad the first hurdle has been met successfully. Been thru a really bad 2018 with my wife's health issues and have learned that care giving takes a toll, but is worth it. Prayers for you and your wife. Take care of yourself and your family.

good vibes from the Land of Oz
I have obviously missed any clues dropped on the forum but you reside in OZ aka "Down Under" aka "Australia" ?  G'Day-
Touristed thru your country a couple of times and moved with family for the 1995 year, living in the Canberra suburb of Weston Creek.  Great experience.
