Lick your wounds or ceramics. I wouldn't want to even attempt cooking (even L&S) on a repaired AKA Frankensteined BGE. Safety concern for sure.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Please do not try to glue it back together. No matter what you use, it's not going to work for very long and it's not safe. If you're doing pizzas with a full firebox of red hot charcoal, you could seriously injure yourself or burn your deck down when it falls apart. Not *if*…when it falls apart.
Imagine trying to glue a drinking glass back together so it didn't leak, but then putting it in the dishwasher or pouring boiling water in it. Do you want risk it falling apart while you're holding onto it?? Hell no. It's not safe.
Have a funeral for it, and move on. It sucks, but don't make a dangerous situation out of something that can be replaced.

Legume said:Can you cook a decent pizza on a kettle?
This was done on a kettle. 800+ degrees - no aftermarket sheet metal attachments were used. Just a 22" lid on my 26" kettle with a few bricks as spacers.

There may be a person near you with some past warranty claim leftovers to help you. I gave a large base, fire ring, and fire box warranty leftovers to my brother after getting my new parts. They are all cracked, but still function fine.

Wish you were closer, I have a new XL BGE in the box I need to get out of here before the KJ's get here. Will get that and the MM's out of here for cheap.
BTW, like you're dogs. I have (what we think is) a husky/eskie/lab mix. There's an American Eskimo Dog rescue group in St. Louis they here about an Eskie in Shelbyville TN that was about to be put down, so they drove down there to get him only to find this mut!! Haha, so we took him and he's been with us for 12 yrs now. Gettin' old, but still plays like a puppy.

@nolaegghead won a pizza throwdown on the forum a while back using his oven. You don’t need an egg to cook good pizza.

As suggested above, it would be well worth it to consider a Weber kettle. Its a workhorse of a grill, and you can get a lot done with it.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Although I like the older model with turn dials. This digital model is a little goofy but made for the small shop in mind with auto shut off and timer.

Sure. The extra holes in the lid in the last pic are not needed - that was from a searing experiment a few years back. Similarly, the part of the cooking grate that's missing is not related to the pizza set up - that's for the slow and sear.
The bricks are clay, and are 1 1/2 thick. They shield the 14" stone completely. They don't shield the entire kettle lid though, so there is plenty of hot air moving around the bricks and filling the dome.

Carolina Q said:If you mostly just do pizza, get a pizza steel and use your oven/broiler. Works well even at 5-550° oven temps. Pre-heat oven well, then turn on the broiler. Once that heats up, launch the pizza. Only takes 3 minutes or so. I've been doing that (mostly) for several years now....I'm interested in this. I use a stone in the oven. It's pretty good, but I can't always get a crisp crust like I do on the egg.So you are saying that once the oven is heated you cook the pizza with the broiler on? I would think that'd cook the top quicker than the bottom?!? What rack do you put the steel on? I've always cooked pizza top rack in the oven, but I'm thinking that close to the broiler would make things worse.LBGE/Maryland

Thanks for taking the time to post photos and explain.
I bet you could use a Large BGE platesetter legs up with cooking grid and then pizza stone as well.
I have used my Large Adjustable Rig setting on my Weber Kettle cooking grate.lolThank you,DarianGalveston Texas -

one of our Eskies came from Troy Mo., through the STL eskie group I believe. My involvement was driving to the airport when my wife said "they have one!" -
Wassi’s is in Melbourne. They’re aren’t any nicer people than them in the egging community. Give ema ring and see if they can help you out. They sponsor the FL State Eggfest and are letting XLs go for $939. Platesetter and next included.=======================================

No way I'd repair and cook on that. Too dangerous.
Ditto on the Wassi's in Melbourne. Their Eggfest is end of April in Vero Beach. Also, this Saturday, March 8th, there is an Eggfest in St. Augustine, sponsored by Pinch-A-Penny (904) 217-7827. They may still have demos available.
