Wanted to know what is your favorite size brisket to cook??
I have the best luck with bigger ones (18-22#). I live in Northern NJ and choice is about all I find (easily) at a good price. A choice goes for almost $5 a pound.
so what do you have the most success with?

The best one I’ve made was a 20 lb one from my local butcher. It had the thickest flat I’ve ever seen.

Look for the Costco Business center in Hackensack (on River road). Prime packers for $3.29/lb! Changed my egging forever... I was paying a butcher $8+ for choice!

I seem to do better with 15+ pounds. Haven't done a 20 pounder. Hmmmm.

I look for 14 to 16# and they fit on my Large BGE. I know I can make a choice turn out great, and CAB choice is easy to find at $2.89/lb. Oklahoma is solidly beef country, but prime brisket is really hard to find here. I have to buy a case at a wholesaler of 4 or 5 briskets to get prime."Bacon tastes gooood, pork chops taste gooood." - Vincent Vega, Pulp Fiction

I typically look for 11-12lb Primes at Costco and typically remove a pound or so of fat. Just because we are family of 4 and never really host a lot of parties. We typically use the Brisket for 2 or so meals after we eat the initial 1st day so that size is perfect. I have never attempted any Brisket over about 14lbs pre trimmed before. I just don't need it and don't want to bother with the extra cost.

Consistently 20# at Costco 3.29 for prime is best I see and special occasions (like right now) they have AMERICAN wagyu for 4.99/lb. Briskets all day long.....Dallas Texas.
