It started out as appetizers and some wine

Then it got real.

Bidding farewell to a crazy 2018, and celebrating survival with a rejuvenation of friendships that occasionally gets lost among the day to day battles of life.

I started with chicken filets marinated in an Asian influenced sauce of teriyaki and sweet thai chili sauce, then wrapped in bacon, then used a spicy sweet bbq sauce.

Upon initiating the invite, everyone asked for ribs, so I did a couple racks, that were not quite fall off the bone tender, but good enough,

A charcuterie platter was brought in, which was devine. Fruits, meats and cheeses were all served with fresh baguettes. It did not last long,

At the last minute, we also added smoked mac and cheese. The XL and the mMx, carried the load.

Way to amp it up and have a great banquet and evening.  Most excellent as if there would be any other outcome.

BBQ ribs, the way I fix them, can be very messy, because I use honey, brown sugar, tiger sauce and sweet spicy BBQ sauce. Helps clean your hands when ordinary paper towels do not....
Really works out great when folks were chowing down....

Well, yeah, pretty much. The bacon wrapped chicken was the surprise winner for the evening, I almost did not serve them... because I felt the amount of time I marinated them were too long. Served with homemade ranch. Turned out much better than I thought they would.

This group of folks rallied in support of friends during the battle against Cancer. We all pitched in, and supported the best we could.

Thank you sir. It was a great night. We are all heading to Napa, during the first week in October, and some of this group may join us at BB19, due entirely to the way we have talked about the event and our friends from here.
    All y'all Rock.

Thank you. We believe in celebrating with those of whom you have built solid relationships. The battle is keeping them, and when we get together, we all remind ourselves why that time is so very special.
