Went to pick up the normal two pack of pork shoulder at Costco today without reading the label. Boneless pork shoulder, god dammit. Who does this? So mad. Will it cook faster cut in half layed out a little?

Still cook pretty much the same, and you'll get more surface area rub...youll still be happyVisalia, Ca @lkapigian

I like them lots more bark. The smaller pieces may need to be cut off a little earlier but nothing too bad
-
I cook boneless all the time. Don't know why that would be a problem.

Costco's two pack is always boneless, at least here. No noticeable difference.Las Vegas, NV

Guess I will suck it up and try it out. Cut the thinner part off before you wrap?

You don't need to cut any of it off.outdoorsmin said:Guess I will suck it up and try it out. Cut the thinner part off before you wrap?They/Them

We shop at Costco for nearly everything. Except pork butts. I have a sams membership for that. I like bone in. Just my personal preference.
-
BJ's has bone in and you can get a pkg of one

At the Costco I frequent (Chesterfield, VA) pork butts with bone are single pack, pork shoulders (boneless) are double pack and labelled boneless.1 LBGE, 1 SBGE, 1 KBQ and a 26" Blackstone near Blackstone, Virginia

The ones I get almost always are bone in. But I've had the same disappointment as you've had. Pulling it out of the cryopack and saying #$@%#!!!!! They're easier to handle and I really like the meat that's up against the bone--turns a beautiful color.

Agree. We maintain both memberships. 80% Costco shopping, Sams for the rest. Pork butts and beef ribs are two reasons. I also think at holiday time their beef tenderloins have been better value. Sams near us hasn’t been redone in any meaningful way, so it’s still several steps off the Costco pace.cookingdude555 said:We shop at Costco for nearly everything. Except pork butts.
