Bacon wrapped deer loin

Man was this good. Started off by soaking the loin in milk for about an hour. Patted dry and injected with creole butter. Then rubbed with Strawberrys BBQ rub. Wrapped it up with bacon and added more rub and let set another hour or so. Got the MM settled in at 325 indirect with a single chunk of apple wood. It only took about 40 mins to cook to an internal of about 138. A couple of things...The bacon wasn't anywhere near cooked, should have used thin cut or precooked the bacon. Also i think the bacon wrap didn't allow the meat to take in the smoke like I wanted. TThanksfor looking

Dude!"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan
