For people who don't eat it they sure want to make everything look like it.

Really?Nothing wrong with trying to recreate some animal free version of something most "pre-vegans" have likely enjoyed. For most vegans anyway. I'm sure there is that camp of vegans that considers such simulacrums to be blasphemous.Like she says in her article:"Well, a little debate immediately ensued whereby someone asked why a vegan would ever want to eat something that looked like a piece of meat. Well…. quite a few vegans had something to say about that because…well…it’s NOT meat. It’s just something tasty.
And when we can replicate some tastes and textures a little, without harming anyone, well why not? And then there’s the fact that the better we are at making tasty things, the more appealing veganism becomes to the mainstream so it’s a win/win."
My sister is a vegan and she has shared quite a few faux meat recipes and a couple commercially made faux hamburgers that are actually pretty damn tasty.

Hahaha. I don’t actually see the problem with this. For sure it is not steak, but I’m open to the idea it might taste good just the same.
And for any of you who strongly disagree with me, I would love to introduce you to the vegan chili that makes an appearance at Brisket Camp every year. It is every bit as good as the real deal."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike -

I get the annoyance, but I guess I'm just fortunate that the vegetarians I happen to know aren't condescending or judgmental about it. It even makes me no more or less inclined to grill a tomahawk steak in their presence.Stillwater, MN

I love that they have to buy and add wheat gluten to it. At some point in the future, I can see the GFs and the vegans battling it out for turf like crips and bloods in all those really fantastic south central LA movies from the ‘90s.
I don’t go looking for meat substitutes, but I’ve had this several times and for making a mess of chorizo & egg breakfast tacos, this is a great product.
Love you bro! -
There is a good chance that this tastes really good. I'd try it. I have just always found humor in vegans wanting plant based products to look like meat. Maybe I should start an animal protein based product that looks like vegetables for those who don't care to eat their greens!
