That’s a good idea-thanksColumbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

It's worth the hour or two it takes to regrease it. The older Kitchenaid mixers are built like tanks if taken care of. If you decide to regrease it give a yell. I can help you out if you have any questions with it.Jstroke said:That’s a good idea-thanks"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Thank You, will do. I will probably wait until next weekend as the to-do list today/tomorrow is long enough and I’m on the road all weekWeberWho said:

@Jstroke I recommend using a food safe synthetic grease. What I've read is that it won't break down over time. I'd stay away from Kitchenaid replacement grease. It's junk. I've always used the brand Tri-Flow food safe synthetic grease. They just recently changed some labeling around. Maybe @Photo Egg can recommend where he picked up the newer Tri-Flow food safe grease. (I think you may have to order it online)"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

I appreciate it. I will look for it now online. I have to admit, sorry to say, I never thought of it.Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

Never thought about regreasing. Thanks. Mine is at least 15 years old but it only gets used a few times per year.Aledo, Texas

@Toxarch Good deal. It's the opposite of what you might think with not using it. The less you use it the better chance the grease will harden and break down. I read somewhere that you're supposed to turn on your Kitchenaid mixer once a week so the Kitchenaid grease doesn't go bad.Toxarch said:Never thought about regreasing. Thanks. The plus with synthetic grease is that it won't break down like Kitchenaids overtime."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan
