It's worth the hour or two it takes to regrease it. The older Kitchenaid mixers are built like tanks if taken care of. If you decide to regrease it give a yell. I can help you out if you have any questions with it.

Thank You, will do.  I will probably wait until next weekend as the to-do list today/tomorrow is long enough and I’m on the road all week

@Jstroke I recommend using a food safe synthetic grease. What I've read is that it won't break down over time. I'd stay away from Kitchenaid replacement grease. It's junk. I've always used the brand Tri-Flow food safe synthetic grease. They just recently changed some labeling around. Maybe @Photo Egg can recommend where he picked up the newer Tri-Flow food safe grease. (I think you may have to order it online)

I appreciate it. I will look for it now online. I have to admit, sorry to say, I never thought of it.

I ordered mine from Grainger and picked it up at a store near my office in Houston.

Never thought about regreasing. Thanks. Mine is at least 15 years old but it only gets used a few times per year.

@Toxarch Good deal. It's the opposite of what you might think with not using it. The less you use it the better chance the grease will harden and break down. I read somewhere that you're supposed to turn on your Kitchenaid mixer once a week so the Kitchenaid grease doesn't go bad.

The plus with synthetic grease is that it won't break down like Kitchenaids overtime.
