countertop deep fryer suggest

I'm looking for a decent countertop deep fryer. I currently use a cast pan once to twice a month mainly for fish, but it is a hassle every time as oil spatters everywhere. Can anyone recommend a decent one? I had one a few years back, but it was so weak the oil would never get to 350 and when it was as hot as possible a single frozen popper or something would drop the temp drastically. I had my eye on this one https://www.t-fal.ca/en/Cooking-appliances/Deep-Fryers/Ultimate-EZ-Clean-Pro/p/7211001466 It seems as though the oil storage feature would be nice. How long does one re-use oil with a smaller counter top model?

I like the Butterball XL counter top deep fryer. It is easy and convenient to use and can be used for other things besides frying. It is normally on sale this time of the year at Walmart, Target and other stores.XL owner in Wichita, KS

I went away from a countertop electric fryer and now use an induction burner with a cast iron dutch oven on it. A wire mesh spatter guard is helpful. The induction burner means no worries if I get a spill-over.LBGE/Weber Kettle/Blackstone 36" Griddle/Turkey Fryer/Induction Burner/Royal Gourmet 24" Griddle/Cuisinart Twin Oaks/Pit Boss Tabletop pellet smoker/Instant Pot

I have that TFAL as it was gifted to me--The oil storage seems like it would be nice but can be a MUCH bigger nightmare.......Buy a Cast Dutch Oven and a Nice SS Wire Deep Fry Basket- While you are at it, buy a nice Funnel to get you grease back into the bottle- You will thank me later----

Whats the nightmare, if i dare ask?I have a Cast dutch oven, but just seems like a lot of work/mess. I dont deep fry lots when i do deep fry. Also i just have a crappy electric stove inside, i find it hard to control a steady temp, and it takes forever to warm up.I was hoping the counter top model would save some grief.lkapigian said:I have that TFAL as it was gifted to me--The oil storage seems like it would be nice but can be a MUCH bigger nightmare.......Buy a Cast Dutch Oven and a Nice SS Wire Deep Fry Basket- While you are at it, buy a nice Funnel to get you grease back into the bottle- You will thank me later----
How long do you guys reuse your oil, or what kind do you prefer? I normally use canola, as itd the only one available to me in gallon jugs. I j -
This GE has been my favorite for past 4 years!

The drain seal does not always seal, the container is two piece and comes sort east...it all comes apart to clean, but it's a lot of parts to clean....the heat recovery is good but not great. It really does not hold that much oil or product ...A Dutch oven about 25%-30% full with that basket IMO is far better and less mess..,let the oil cool and pour back in its original container ... And I to use Canola and buy 1 gallon containers ...use +- half in the cast Dutchposter said:

I can’t stand the smell inside the house. Tried several outside (covered from the elements, of course) all failed in a years time. Bought a 2.5 gallon bayou classic propane one and love it. Will be upgrading to the R&V 4 or 6 gallon soon.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

I don't fry anything inside. Sick of the house smelling like the BK Lounge for a week after.

Have the Tfal outside and it’s ok at best. Agree with Larry. It’s messy.

After using a Fry Daddy at a friend's ranch. I had to get one for myself. Works awesome. Low volume of oil, heats up quickly and can recover temp quickly. No temp control but I've never had a problem. That's all I use now.
