OT - New Member - Welcome to the Forum!!

Is that how this works?   ;)

Anyway, I'm a long-time veteran of a few online discussion forums that I think are pretty like-minded to this one.  A bunch of irreverent a--holes just living their best lives.

Forgive my youth - I'm 37 and can't do anything about it.  I've always tended to be more comfortable with people quite a bit older than myself, and largely live by the rule that if the music was made after I was born, it's not worth listening to.

I have loved cooking my entire life, am good at it, and I'm going to be good at this kind of cooking, too, because I'm already passionate about it.  But, the best lesson I've learned over the years is that there's no substitute for cubic inches.  But that's not important right now.  I've also learned that there's no substitute for experience (other than maybe, cubic inches).

I've already learned a bunch lurking here for the past few weeks and immediately fell in love with this group.  I've bookmarked a bunch of stuff.  Y'all are mildly insane (but it's the good kind).  I've done the audiophile forums - those guys are actually clinically off, you know?  $100K for wires.  Anyway, I'm excited for the challenge of learning a whole new way to cook.  I'm an engineer type (not by education or trade, just self-proclaimed FWIW) and can't wait to geek out some delicious cooks.

I actually owned a BGE once before... story for another post.
