OT - Wifi Question for Geeks
Anne uses an iPad for the internet and I use my laptop. She has a lot more problems with slow connection, so I've done a speed test and I can get 20 Mb/s on the laptop whereas the iPad tested immediately after gets 6 Mb/s. Is this just down to the iPad, or is there something I can do about it. I did a cache clean on the iPad before testing, but nothing else.

Try deleting the wireless profile and rejoining the wireless network. I see a lot of iPads/MacBooks with this issue. I usually use the reset network settings function rather than telling it to forget a particular SSID~ John - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

The signal full strength? Some radios get better range so if you’re a distance from the router you could be getting some issues from that

Forgot network and added again. Problem solved for now, running 3 x the speed it was before. Thanks to all for the input.

You just need more fiber.
-
We don't have fibre, we live 1 mile outside a village, which also doesn't have fibre. Approx. 5 miles from the nearest exchange, mixed aluminium and copper cables between us and there, complete with dodgy connections. On our fixed line, we get dial up speeds. The 20 Mb/s is from an antenna pointed at a tranceiver on top of the village church.

Considering the circumstances, 20 Mbps might be pretty good. Glad you got it working again.
We feel pretty fortunate to have 1 gig speed in our city. That test I posted was over WiFi, wired speed tests are in the 900+ Mbps up/down range. WiFi hovers from 300-500 depending on how many security cameras are recording the dog doing his business in the back yard at the time.
