I can grab a tree size piece out of a kiln and take a pic of it and win......but it's charred wood, NOT charcoal.  It's black and charred outside, but it's still wood inside--that's why it's still together.  If it was properly carbonized, it would broken apart as the moisture left it (there isn't any more wood fiber to hold it together.) 

Take that big log and drop it on the ground.  If it doesn't split, or better yet, shatter, then it's not charcoal.


Edit:  Here's a pic of some huge pieces that look like charcoal, but they're under carbonized--so they're bundled and going back in the kiln.
