I'm getting ready to do my first pork belly this afternoon. I bought a couple of 9 pounders at Costco (one to freeze). I'll be feeding four this afternoon, maybe five. Should I cut my remaining pork belly in half, cook half and freeze the rest or will 4 and 1/2 or so pounds be enough for 4 or 5 adults? Going with Malcolm Reed's burnt ends recipe.

Half a belly should be enough. It’s rich stuff. Assuming you’re serving other goodies.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

Thanks much. Starting in about an hour.

Half should be plenty unless you are the type that eats a pound of bacon at a sitting The burnt ends are very rich and filling and if you have a side or two (crusty rolls would be good too) there will be lots.
