What do you guys think, should I keep on cooking or get a replacement base on order?

As long as you aren’t cooking on a flammable surface I would do both.

Uhhhhh. Yeah. Or grill in flip flops and throw caution to the wind.

I am so close to putting my xl on craigslist. The ace I went to the other day to get Rockwood had the Weber summit charcoal with table on sale for $1599 and I’m so sick of replacing bases. It’s gonna happen real soon kinda sad it’s my last egg left. This post may have pushed me over the edge I am off tomorrow may just go get it.

I'm with ya, Lit. This is the second base in two years I've had develop this type of crack, definitely a PITA.

File a claim and keep an eye on it until the new one arrives.

The large isn’t bad it sucks to swap the xl base by yourself.derka123 said:I'm with ya, Lit. This is the second base in two years I've had develop this type of crack, definitely a PITA. -
That thing is awesome. I think if I started today I would get a summit.Lit said:I am so close to putting my xl on craigslist. See I looked at them the other day and got the exact opposite feeling for it. It felt extremely cheap to me. The only thing I kind of liked was the charcoal box. It felt like an over sized weber performer with an extra layer of metal insulation. The Cen-Tex Smoker said:

Another good reason to not go larger than the LBGE.
Or better yet, everyone should just get an MM.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

I had that same feeling when it first came out but I have come around. It’s air insulated like a yeti cup btw (not metal) .TEXASBGE2018 said:

Yeah it’s pretty sweet. I wanted it then I saw it in person and now I really want it. I brought it up to her a couple times tonight so she knows it’s coming. I’d give tomorrow a 50/50 right now.The Cen-Tex Smoker said:

I have two large eggs, a blackstone and a weber jumbo joe. I am really thinking about the same summit and get accessories for it and roll with that, my jumbo, and my griddle.Lit said:I am so close to putting my xl on craigslist. I have two larges, i think the only part not warranted between them is the fire rings and one dome. Larges crack tooSaintJohnsEgger said:Another good reason to not go larger than the LBGE.

I hear ya. When I got the jumbo joe after selling my mini and mini max that was the only grill I used for probably 2 months. Fun grill to cook on. I really only need the summit for smaller cooks I have a backwoods fatboy vertical for larger cooks. I wonder if the xl adjustable rig will fit in the summit?milesvdustin said:
