Bet on my butts!

So SWMBO is organizing a fundraiser for a co-worker who was diagnosed with cancer. F.... cancer!

They needed 60 lbs of pork butt for pulled pork Sammie’s. My LBGE could only handle half that, so another one of her co-workers husband volunteers to do the other half on his Traeger
(we are good friends), so we decided to do a friendly wager, his butts against mine. They will do a taste test before they start playing, loser has to pay for our next round of golf. Butts on!Injected with Dr Pepper mixed with Some rub and then rubbed with my homemade rib rub. Results to follow.

You are so right - F cancer.
Great gesture on SWMBO's part to organize this.
And no pressure as you've got this.  Hopefully a blind taste test.

Well once again, I got caught up in the moment getting everything done this morning and failed to take pics. But everything went amazing. The pork was very good! Got unanimous decision from three judges, there comments were that the traegar pork was too dry. So I have a free round of golf coming.

The turnout out was great, and for a great cause. Very satisfying to be able to help a friend in need.

Congrats @jabam for the win but also to all who participated as it is a great cause.  Did you try any of the competition's pork?

As a matter of fact I did. I actually liked it quite a bit. Didn’t seem that dry to me.

This day and time it is hard to find anyone who has not been touched by cancer (themselves or their family). Go for greatness and thanks for sharing your efforts. Love your coworkers, neighbors and friends every chance you get.
