Shrimp and Wedding Grits - First Attempt

Happy Sunday Ya'll,
No, I didn't get married, but these wedding grits were pretty damned good! I followed the shrimp and grits recipe from Malcolm Reed at How to BBQ Right- http://howtobbqright.com/2018/03/29/bbq-shrimp-and-grits/ and instead of cheese grits, made "Wedding Grits" using white speckled grits from Beaverdam Creek Mill. If you live in the Nashville area you can pick up these grits at the Franklin Farmers Market on Saturdays. Meal turned out excellent, "Wedding Grits" recipe below.
Wedding Grits Recipe:
1 1/4 cups half and half
1 1/3 cups chicken broth
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup white speckled grits
2 oz cream cheese
2 oz grated white cheddar
2 oz grated gruyere cheese
dash hot sauce
1. Mix half and half, chicken broth, salt, and garlic powder in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
2. Gradually stir in grits.
3. Return to a boil, stir; then reduce heat to low and cover.
4. Simmer, stirring often to prevent scorching. Cook for 20-30 minutes, or until thickened.
6. Stir in cheeses and hot sauce.
7. Enjoy! Serves 4.
