And if you make it to Cape Cod go to Arnold’s for shrimp.

Go to Allagash brewery in Portland. Have the Curieaux. Trust me.

    You’re welcome.
Agree, I could’ve gotten a lot lengthier in my suggestions if I went outside of Boston.  I’ve spent a lot of time on Cape Cod and in NH as well.  I used to love watching Phantom Gourmet to check out different restaurants in New England.

Can’t go wrong with any of these.

Boston- the North End and Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market. The saying the in the North End is dinner in Salem St and desert in Hanover. Mike’s is awesome and also cash only. Around Fenway, you can hit Beer Works or Cask N Flagon for the old school, authentic, pregame experience. Yard House is good too.

Maine- go to Portland. Fore St, Street and Co., Maps, Duck Fat, and many more. Truly a foodie’s city.

NH- hit the Sea Coast. Portsmouth is an old seaport w/ plenty of great food and booze.

VT- Burlington is a great town. Hit Church St. More bars and restaurants per square mile than just about anywhere in the country.

this all works for me.  kennebunk port me has the best clam shack, lobster roll and fried clams,  federal jacks for drafts overlooking the port/river, will probably see bushes secret service in and around. would probably skip vermont and head even further up the coast of maine to acadia national park.  if you go to mt washington and take the cog up, book one of the cogs with steam, i used to do rivet repairs on the old boilers but they are all biodiesel now. if buying booze pick it up in nh. in maine buy this beer, there is no other beer comparable to curieux

You are going to have a blast! I won a trip to Boston many years ago through a radio station contest. We had a lot of fun. It is a great city with a lot of fun stuff to do.

Amen to this! Bean's (and Freeport in general) is a zoo during normal hours. After midnight, they bring out the free coffee and the only people you'll see work there. They also sell Maine fishing licenses if you're planning that.

In boston, avoid durgin park like the plague. THE WORST dining experience of my life!

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Take a drive up 1 to Maine, enjoy the views and be sure and stop for lobster rolls. One of my favorite was the C Shack in Kennebunkport but there are others just as good.
Enjoy the ball park and maybe if you are lucky a batter will homerun over the Big Green Wall

kittery trading post for the sportsman, beans is an outlet store at best. bobs clam hut is down the street from the trading post, very good.  if you want to try fried clams, get some in ipswich, these are ipswich clams grown in sand, they are sweeter than most. then try the clam shack in maine, clams grown in mud flats, altogether different, but better in my opinion. the mcdonalds next to beans is an experience you just dont see

    welcome to mcdonalds

If you want good seafood you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting at least a few good joints in Boston. I’ll suggest something north of the city. It’s called Woodman’s in Essex, MA. It’s somewhat rustic but the food is beyond compare.

The original Pizzaria Regina in town is great. So to in Santarpio’s over by the airport. +1 for Modern Pastry.

If you do do the game right, and come out a little tipsy and hungry, get an Italian sausage post game right outside the park. Only go to the one(s) called The Sausage Guy. Top shelf. Others are questionable.

pub hoppin in portland is great if you like to do that, start at 3 dollar deweys and end the night at gritty mcduffs. have not been there in a long time but let the music be the guide, jazz, blues, rock etc, its all there. dont drink and drive in maine, after 9pm alot of drivers on the road dont have a license, maybe 1 in 3

@GrillSgt- you may look at the time of your post and then see if the thread has moved up to the front page.  Given it is still here but with no forum support means "sunk".  Were it to completely  disappear from the forum means the death sentence, "Buffaloed." FWIW-

Thanks, I got it now. I can see the usefulness of sinking a thread rather than deleting it but damn it has become pretty indiscriminate of late.

2 days in. Boston was great. Fenway was awesome. Have hit a lot of bars and had a lot of great food. Stopped in Hampton Beach New Hampshire for the night. Probably should have went on to Portsmouth but this is a cool little town too. On to Portland in the morning.
