    @JohnInCarolina wins bonus points for a great word!  I had to look up the definition of  kakistoctacy.  A great word, and one that seems to have been used completely appropriately.

    When I looked up  kakistoctacy this also popped up.  Snollygaster, One, especially a politician, who is guided by personal advantage rather than by consistent, respectable principles.

    That's when he was a crotchety old bastard as depicted by the media cabal back then.  He's going out the way he lived his life in the later years.  Trying to desperately to be seen as relevant and revered by the same media cabal.  It's actually pretty sad.
