Question For You Bakers..
Do you freeze your nuts? I usually keep them in the fridge, but wonder if longer term storage in the freezer would work..

SWMBO does keep nuts in the freezer.LBGE, and just enough knowledge and gadgets to be dangerous .

Yes I do freeze them and have never sensed an issue. I always stock up walnuts and pecans when they are so readily available in December.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I use another type of "nut picker upper" for gathering pesky acorns and hickory nuts. Actually I have two of these - one for each hand so I can gather a quart of nuts at a time and the open top makes it easy to dumpalaskanassasin said:

Grandmaw always froze bags of black walnuts. I sure miss them!

I freeze pecans and walnuts all the time. I get the large bags from Costco and use the nuts right from the freezer.

BTW I just finished breaking a cup of pecans to float in melted butter and maple syrup inside acorn squash halves for tonight's meal. They really go oh so great with a sliced pork loin roast which I serve with my secret warm finishing sauce! (Secret sauce which you need not reveal to your guests is Blue's Hog Tennesee sauce! We shell pecans and freeze them in mason jars.
