This morning I received two scary emails telling me my bank accounts have been hacked as there is suspicious looking activity. They say I must reply or call such and such in their FRAUD Dept. The emails are from Chase as well as Wells Fargo.

OH HEAVENS what should I do??? Seeing that I have NO accounts at all with either of these institutions!!!

Just makes you wonder how many people fall for that SH*T!!!

Sadly, many who do fall for these types of scams are elderly folks whose mental facilities are declining.  That sort of thing can be a real challenge to stop, and it’s no joke for the families.

Call em. Make up stuff (names, account numbers, etc.), try to string along as long as possible. Should be great sport.

Might be best to do that from a burner phone tho. :)

Happens all the time. Sadly, some people don't know any better and will call. I see it on a weekly basis in my job.

Here's a tip: use two-factor authentication any chance you get. Email, social media, bank accounts ...

Depends on how much time you have on your hands.

I was selling a Pelican cooler on OfferUp some time ago. A guy contacts me, offering full price, but he'll have his moving guy pick it up in a few days. Check + $50 extra for my trouble will follow in the mail.

I said sure, no problem. Gave him the name and office address of the FBI's Houston chief. He actually went there to try and pick up the cooler.
