    Free unsolicited advise:
dont buy the nest. look at the new modular table.  For starters you can just buy the base only and then go from there.

@Stubby you can probably get it out on your own. I did it with my 6 year old son. I cut the side of the box so I could pull the parts of my XL out one by one. Nothing was too heavy for me. Getting it in the nest was a little tricky, but not too bad at all! I say go for it!! :)

Congrats!!  Welcome to the club - when folks say kiss your money goodbye, they mean it. First it was a kettle, then a green egg, then that wasn’t enough...

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’  Dare to think for yourself.

Congrats on getting it home!  Time to update your signature as “XL coming soon” no longer applies.  Maybe change that to the next size you think you’ll get.  =)

Looks great.  Start with a pork butt.  Or some chicken.  Or burgers.  Or pork chops.

Been a long time since I cooked on a new egg. Enjoy. She’ll never look like that again. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

@NorthPilot06 that is an awesome setup! Once I'm done moving around every few years, id love a pool and outdoor kitchen set up like yours. I too started with a Kettle for many solid years...8 I think. Then bought an Akorn Jr and Pit Barrel Cooker thinking it would satisfy my desire for an Egg. They didn't...so I finally bit the bullet last fall. Thad all she wrote!
