From the email:

"On May 24–27, 2018 in Austin, Texas, Hot Luck: Live Food & Music will return to honor the soul, sweat and DIY diversity of the food and music world. Created and founded by Aaron Franklin, James Moody, and Mike Thelin, this Texas-sized get-together is the true Austin festival experience blending world-class culinary talent and live music. Hot Luck is what happens at the fire—in the flames. It's where the inspiration turns into food. And that food feeds the people, and the music, and the next round of crazy ideas that flicker to life.

Two of three events featuring Aaron are sold out but limited tickets remain for the brunch event, Coupe de Grille, at Austin Speed Shop on Sunday, May 27th. Yes, that is correct. Aaron will be making brunch! And for being a loyal Franklin Barbecue fan, we have secured a 20% off code for you for the next 24 hours. Enter FRANKLININSIDER on the tickets page right above Order Now (click on 'Purchase Tickets' below) for 20% off Coupe de Grille, as well as the other two signature Hot Luck events, Al Fuego and Night Court. All food and drink is included in ticket prices (21+ only)."

It just so happens I am going to be in Austin that weekend.  Hmmm.

  • this thing feels like such a hipster beat down to me. I just can’t bring myself to check it out. I know if I wear a decent shirt it will get beard cream all over it from all the beards rubbing against me. I can only do so many tat-sleeves in one day and ALL the tat-sleeves will be there. Most festivals in Austin are kind of this way and i like many of them. I guess I’m just not ready to add one more to the list. Love Ay-Ay-Ron but not sold on this one just yet.

This gave me a genuine LOL.  That and, "Hot Luck is what happens at the fire - in the flames."  Gimme a break.
